Story Time!

As an independent mother, I was inspired and determined to make sure my beautiful children felt at home in their own skin and in the world around them. Our journey began with struggle, but that struggle became the fuel to knock down barriers, build confidence, and set the tone for excellence—ensuring our voices are heard!

Hi, I’m Francetta, a mother of pure awesomeness! I am a mother, an early childhood professional, children’s book author, inspirational coach, and a strong advocate not just for my children, but for all children and adults. My inspiration to write came at a young age, and after giving birth to my firstborn, my soul was reignited with purpose.

My son, Braylen, was born at just 2 lbs 1 oz, defying the odds and growing into a strong-minded, curious, and adventurous young man. By age 2, I noticed he had a speech delay, and by age 3, he began to question why he couldn’t relate to his peers in many ways—whether through communication, skin color, treatment from others, or representation in books. I saw the need for stories that featured boys like him—boys with rich brown skin, bold spirits, and boundless potential.

My daughter, Rylee, is equally extraordinary—a bright, artistic, and determined young girl with a deep love for gymnastics, crystals, and self-expression. Like her brother, she faced challenges that required her to carve out her own space in a world that often tries to box children in. She is proof that softness and strength can coexist, that a young beautiful girl’s magic deserves to shine without limits.

Determined to create characters that both my children—and children everywhere—could relate to, I took the adventures we’ve experienced together and transformed them into powerful stories. These stories showcase children as superheroes, as trailblazers, as forces of nature who can soar beyond any limitations placed upon them.

A Message to Parents:

You know your child better than anyone! Never stop being their biggest fan and advocate. Our children—of all shades, backgrounds, and abilities—need us now more than ever. A mother’s (or father’s) love can push them to the greatest heights. I encourage families to increase representation in literature, making sure our boys and girls see themselves in the pages they turn. Protect their light from a world that often tries to dim it.
